An extraordinary, petit Baroque gilded mirror dating from the eighteenth century, Italy. Taking a cue from the works of Italian sculptor Andrea Fantoni, the water gilded wood frame is richly decorated with ornate scrolling acanthus leaves, elevated by their considerable thickness. A cherub angel watches over the top of the mirror, and an abstract fleur-de-lis graces its base. The glass has been replaced with salvaged antique mirror and the frame re-gilded.
