A chic walnut oil vessel from the late-eighteenth to early-nineteenth century. Vessels of this kind have been handmade since the middle ages. The special glaze coloring identifies its origin as Saintonge, near Bordeaux. The rustic chain detail gives an interesting texture and character to the pot.
